hi friends,
i was just going through montessori book which my friend had gifted me i was reading the concept of silence in montessori shchool.My question is how does montessori concept of silence differ from that of ordinary school?Can any one pls explain this concept in detail

Silence... is same. Only difference is, silence is enjoyed by the child.
We don't give silence activity to reduce the noise, instead we encourage the child to appreciate the silence. We have various exercises in silence activity.
If you read the books written by E.M. Standing , I am sure you will fall this method of education.

Dear, this is really a good question. Generally, we keep our index finger horizontally straight infront of our closed mouth to tell others to keep silent. This means no talking but in Montessori, it means total control over all the movements. Thank you.
