What would you suggest as activities for a 14 month old?

She has already picked up on a few things, which we have opted to let her do due to her interest. They're pretty rudimentary versions of the true activities, but she does enjoy them - we remodel them for her from time to time. They include sweeping (both indoors and outdoors), wiping the table after she's eaten, washing her hands, turning pages of a book (she's really good with the cloth and cardboard books, but a little rough with paper books), and drinking from a 2 oz cup (filled half full).

We're working on potty training (she opens/closes her 3-in-1 potty, climbs onto it, and even empties the bowl into the big potty [not restricted to when she actually goes, sometimes she empties the empty bowl  ] - if she chooses to use the big potty, she puts the potty seat on the big potty herself), as well as the accompanying dressing (pulling pants up and down) and wiping.

We have ordered two identical pitchers to start with pouring activities. I am not sure if we should start with water or lentils first.

Do you have any recommendations for additional activities?

Thanks!

Before pouring, you could even show her how to spoon grains. Then I would definitely start by showing her how to pour something large, such as corn kernels. That way if any spill out of the jugs, she can really work on her thumb-index finger dexterity by picking up each kernel one at a time. Then slowly move towards smaller and smaller sized grains such as lentils or rice. And of course then comes pouring water.

Good luck with your daughter, you seem to really be allowing her to grow independently!

Preparing a flower bouquet could also be really interesting for her. You may need to help her cut at first, but children seem to learn quickly how to do it. Other than Practical Life exercises, you could also do language activities such as vocabulary cards. And if your daughter will be going to a Montessori school, when she is a little older, you could even start playing sound games with her. This could really help with her phonetic understanding of words.
